Taiwanese WiMAX carrier Fitel (First International Telecom) announced on March 28, 2011 that the company plans to build five to ten TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) base stations in northern Taiwan to conduct a one-year field test, according to the China Times of Taiwan. It is reported that Quanta Computer will supply network equipment and devices, and China Mobile will provide technical assistance. The field test is scheduled to be run between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
